The Mississippi is a very large river.  VERY large.

Here we are on the Nauvoo side.

Can you imagine putting anything you want to keep in that wagon and then floating across the Mississippi? Some of the first saints were able to go across the frozen river... but I can't imagine trusting that thing to float!

While we were by the river we watched this boat push its load up the river. It was a very impressive thing to watch.

This is the same type of boat we saw on the Missouri side.

When we went to the St Louis Arch, we parked near the Mississippi River.  Very near.

I kind of like the Mississippi. Have I mentioned just how big it is?
