Its great to be 8!

Hayden is 8 years old! As a rule, I don't do friend birthday parties for 8 because there are so many other things going on with this birthday. As a gift to Hayden, Corrine wanted to give him a surprise birthday party with his friends. After a little planning and limiting the number of people that actually knew what was going on.... she pulled it off!  Hayden was totally surprised!
Sadly, it was raining at the time of the party so some plans had to change. The boys first played "lasers".  They had to make it through the laser field. They did pretty good. Yes, that's tape on my newly painted walls. We must all make sacrifices these days.
It was more fun to destroy the laser field.
Then, they played musical chairs.
After musical chairs they had a "dance  off'".  This was funny to watch. Mathieu and Cannon have some pretty good dance moves.
Pizza!  The best part of any party.
Presents.  The next best part of a party..... unless you get Legos... then its the best part of the party.

Being eight means cub scouts!  Hayden is VERY excited about starting cub scouts.
Hayden loves to take (and therefore lose) Jakobs chess game. Jakob got Hayden a new chess game to lose.
Dad and Mom got Hayden soccer goals and a ball.

This morning we went and took pictures at the temple for Haydens baptism invitations.  Here are a few that we liked.

Happy Birthday Hayden!

Cannon had a great time. I love that Corrine threw the party for him. Talk about win/win. I do agree, Cannon has some sweet dance moves!
