Jakob went on his first date last night! This is one of many "firsts" we have experienced with our kids. This first was a little strange feeling though! A very nice young lady in our ward, Cera, asked Jakob to the girls choice dance at the local high school. She didn't just ask him.... she left a card at our house with a code. Here he is trying to figure out the clues she gave him. She used numbers from the Periodic Table. He had to figure out they were elements, then figure out how to put them together to make the words. Gotta like a girl that uses the periodic table. Jakob used a book code to answer her back. He used the 4th book of the Harry Potter series. She is also a very big Harry Potter fan.
The dance was a costume dance. They went as part of the Ravenclaw house at Hogwarts.
Her dad dressed as the Hogwarts Express conductor and took them to their dinner and then brought them home from the dance. What a good daddy!
She went to all kinds of work! She had the "train" all loaded with the treat cart. She also gave Jakob his own wand... she made it! It was incredible. She also gave him treats after the dance.
They went to one of her friends houses for dinner, then to the dance, to Arctic Circle for shakes, then another friends house for a movie. He said he had a lot of fun. He also said he sucks at ping pong. Change is good, I think. We welcome a new chapter in our lives.... Dating!
