I realized I skipped a week... but not a lot happened during week 4. This past week was Memorial Weekend and we got A LOT done. Im so pleased with how things are coming together! We even got in a few activities that were not construction related. First, we went to the Payson Temple open house. What a beautiful temple.
The weather we SO COLD and windy while we were waiting to get inside. Thank heavens it didn't rain though.
When we were coming home we asked each of the kids what their favorite part was. The only thing we could get out of Kate was that "boot socks hurt me" "I don't like socks". Well then, that's a great memory. Anyway, we went to the temple. It was beautiful.
Then CONSTRUCTION! We had to find heavy things to hold the transition pieces down. Food storage is awesome for so many reasons.
EMBARRASSING admittance. We live in filth. This is no surprise. The surprise was just how filthy things are and how none of us realized it. Jakob was cleaning the fan in the office and changing the blades from the 90's brown side to the white side to match the office décor. Anyway... he decided to wipe the glass.... and who knew?! We have lived with this fan for 5 years now and we had no idea that the glass was totally clear! We all thought it was that smoky glass... no, it was dirty glass. Some times it pays to have a professional cleaner living at your house.
Jakob also did a lot of the transitions on the floor. This was very hard work! Lots of detailed cutting and piecing together. He did a great job.
Corrine has become the expert at cutting baseboard. She did a great job with some hard cuts getting the baseboards looking amazing!
Sariah helped with construction. She also helped a lot by playing with Kate. On Monday Sariah made us lunch because I was busy painting. This was no peanut butter sandwich kind of lunch... this was REAL cooked food! Good job Sariah!
Sariah helped clean. There is so much detail work that must be done. Cleaning the cold air returns is one of them.
Hayden is the expert floor person. He has done a great job putting in floors!
Kate is the expert entertainer and keeps the cuteness factor high at our house. She spent a lot of the week "going on an expedition". One must always wear the proper equipment when going on an expedition.
The boys worked on my car as well. I need to get to the store and get one more small part and they can put it back together for me. The theme of this week as been putting things back together.....
We even managed to work in a bbq and eat outside for the holiday weekend. It was a little cold, but at least it wasn't raining... at that moment.....
