Laboring on Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend! According to our children "normal" people "play" on labor day weekend.  Keith takes the whole "labor" part seriously. Friday Keith and the four older children split wood. This is Haydens favorite activity, so it wasn't actually "labor" for him. The rest of the kids felt the "labor" part more than Hayden.
If you are going to split four cords (YEP, 4) the log splitter is really the best way to go. Sariah had the job of running the log splitter. She did a great job!
Jakob and Corrine had the job of loading up the tractor and then dumping the wood in the wood pile or the trailer. Its the only way to move fire wood!
Hayden likes to haul wood. It doesn't matter what kind of wood. It doesn't matter where he is hauling it. He like to haul just for the sake of hauling.
Kate likes to smile.
Poor Kate had to get shots on Friday. I spent the day holding her. She was very sick and it was not a good thing. All of the kids have had a hard time with shots, but she had a very hard time. Needless to say, we won't be getting shots when she is 4 months. Im waiting.
On Saturday the kids and Keith finished the firewood! They got all four cords done! I was so proud of them. They all worked very hard.

On Saturday Keith was able to get the "real" door on the chicken coop. We like things to be nice for the chickens. Only the best for them.
Jakob likes to do tractor work.  He did a lot hauling fire wood. This particular time he was using the tractor to help clean the chicken coop and move the "compost" to the garden area. Im proud of my boy. He is becoming pretty helpful! It would be very hard to run our little "farm" with out him.
These are my girls. I think they are pretty cute.
