Summer vacation part 1

We are starting summer vacation a little early this year! The kids raced to finish up school and it does feel good to have that all done! Mike, Julie, and Samuel came from Michigan and we always love it when they come stay with us. One of our fun activities was hanging out at the local bowling alley. We aren't going to join a league anytime soon, but we had fun.

Another fun activity was a little bit longer bike ride. We did end up with a path that had quite a few hills and it was a struggle for Kate, but she made it back alive.
My biking selfie buddy. I am grateful for Julie. She has helped me in so many ways!

I managed to hurt my knee because Im talented like that.

Another fun activity we did was go to the zoo! Kate was very excited! It has been a few years since we had a zoo membership. I enjoyed this trip to the zoo. The weather was PERFECT. It was so nice to get out and take a little walk.

I think its a law that you have to get a picture by this lion drinking fountain at the zoo.

The highlight.... and low part of vacation was the 4-wheeling trip. Our kids said they loved it and it was nice to get the 4-wheelers back out after all winter long.

Team daddy is a pretty popular team.
Team Andrew and Hayden was as crazy as you might imagine. At least they had fun.

The low. Aunt Julie broke her ankle on the 4-wheeler!!!! Oh, my. Sadly her injury will probably impact summer vacation part 2. We feel terrible and it was a good reminder to be extra careful on the 4-wheelers.

Despite the tragic ending to summer vacation part 1, we are sad to see the Hales go home. We are looking forward to summer vacation part 2.... coming soon to a blog near you.
