Memorial Weekend

We had a pretty busy weekend! I have a lot of pictures, so this will mostly be a "photo" entry. On Thursday night, my Bluffdale friends surprised me with a baby shower! It was so fun to visit with them. It was fun to listen to the little girls oohhh and awww over the baby clothes. Friday we went to Clinton and had another baby shower with my Clinton friends. I had so much fun visiting with my Clinton friends. Some of them I haven't seen since we moved. We are so blessed to have so many good friends! Thanks to all of our friends, this is going to be the best dressed baby ever! Im so excited (ok Corrine really is) to get her here and dress her up! On Saturday, Keith got the kids to work on yard work. The flower beds in our front yard were so messed up. I should have got a "before" picture for you. Just imagine LOTS of weeds and grass and nothing that looks like a flower bed. Keith and the kids worked in the cold and rain all day to make the front yard look nice for me.

On Monday, they finished up the flower beds. Im so proud of the kids for all of their hard work. Im thankful for a husband that knew I wanted those flower beds fixed and he knew I couldn't do it. I didn't even ask him to take on this project... he just did!

On Sunday we went to visit a couple of graves. First, we went to Keiths brother and sister in laws grave. This gave us a good opportunity to talk to the kids about their uncle Phillip. Jakob and Corrine were so little when he died that they do not remember anything about him.

After that, we went to visit Grandpa Schramms grave. His grave does not have a headstone yet, so it took us a while to find the marker. This is something that needs to be fixed. We spent some time sharing memories of grandpa. Keith informed us that when he dies we do not have to go visit his grave. Its just too sad. We miss you grandpa Schramm.

Monday was "workin' on the farm" day. If you are going to do farm chores like get water for the cow, you need to look good.

This is my "farm" dog. Yes, he is climbing the 6 foot fence. Its fantastic, really.

"Dinner" the cow likes to eat grass. He ate most of the grass in our side pasture. We have a lot of grass in the back yard that needs to be taken care of. So, we decided to move the cow to the back yard. Sounds simple enough, right? Nope. Not so much. It took some work to play cowboy and round up our chicken of a cow.

The cow is afraid of everything. We had the little kids hide in the back of the truck and be very quiet while we tried to get the cow to move past them. This is a picture of my niece Ryan, Hayden, & Sariah.

After he ran around the back yard for a while, we finally got him in his new pen. I don't think Keith or Jakob are ready for any kind of rodeo, but they still got their cow where they wanted him.

Memorial Day afternoon, Keiths sister, Karen, and her kids came for a bbq. I think they actually came to laugh at Keith while he tried to round up the cow. We did enjoy a bbq and then we roasted marshmallows. The kids really enjoyed the marshmallows.

Aunt Karen is fixing the fire. Keith started it and then got a little distracted being the cowboy. Aunt Karen did a good job taking over the marshmallow activity.
