Summer Vacation

I can not believe that this is the end of summer vacation. What happened?? School starts in less than a week. We are all done with sleeping in, goofing off, and playing! Eeek. Things have been very hard and crazy this summer, and I have been especially grateful for the break. This teacher is not ready for school yet! We had Mike and Julie and their family with us for a week. Here is a recap of the funnest week of the summer vacation.







We decided to take the 4-wheelers out to Soapstone basin. We had so much fun and loved it... except for the flies and mosquitoes. That part was awful. If you go fast enough on a 4-wheeler, they can't get you. The girls set up their "girls club" meeting house on the trailer. They had a pretty nice set up for a little while.



Jakob gave the cousins rides on his 4-wheeler. I think Andrew enjoyed this activity.



The boys went on a long ride so the girls stayed back and played games. We set up a nice little table and had all of the treats. Give us a towel, and we can make anything fancy.



Keith took Hayden for a ride and Hayden fell asleep! He hasn't done that since he was very little. He must have been pretty tired to sleep on a 4-wheeler in that helmet!



We tie died t-shirts. It was a lot of fun. We decided that we would wear our shirts 4-wheeling. We look pretty good, if you ask me.



After 4-wheeling, we came home and roasted hot dogs in the back yard. This is the way to camp. 4-wheelers, hot dogs, fires, and a nice shower followed by BED. Awesome.



The kids slept out on the trampoline. They all said this was one of the best parts of the week.




Another highlight of the week was "the water bouncy house". I must take the time to thank my amazing, fantastic, friend, Kay, for letting us borrow this highlight of the week. The kids LOVED it. All of the cousins LOVED it. It was so much fun!!! Here are the daddies doing their thing setting it all up. This kept kiddos happy for 5 hours. Yep, FIVE. Excellent!!
