This post was supposed to be all about our first camping trip of the season. We were to head out Thursday and come home tonight, Saturday. Well, our trip didn't go exactly as planed. Wednesday night we loaded up the camp trailer and paid close attention to the weather. It was supposed to be rainy on Thursday, but then clear up. When we woke up Thursday morning, it was so nice and sun shiny. Kind of like those sickening sweet Disney Movies. Everyone was so nice and kind to each other.... (oh wait.. not exactly that sick and sweet) The flowers were just a little brighter and the sky was just a little more bright blue. We got all loaded up and started out. By the time we got 30 minutes away from home, we were in a terrible 'cats and dogs' rain storm. The freeway was flooded. We made it to Keiths parents house an hour way and it was nice and sunny. I actually wished I had found my sunglasses. We got back on the road and about 10 miles into the trip.... yep, cats and dogs raining. We were not going to give up. We kept driving. We made it to the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon (now about 2 hours away from home) and it was raining so hard and all we could see in any direction was black clouds. At this point in time, we remembered we had an almost 2 year old with us. Then, we started to remember what 2 year olds do. The thought of a small kid trapped in a camp trailer for 2 days straight didn't do much for us. We started thinking about a shower. And our own bed. We turned around and headed home. After 6 hours of being in the truck dragging the camp trailer and 4-wheelers, we finally arrived home. We found the nice shiny sun, the nice happy flowers, and the brightest blue sky. UGH.
The kids were so disappointed so I promised them they could sleep in their tent. They set it up in the family room. Not much actual sleeping happened... but lots and lots of giggles.

The next morning, (Friday) we took the 4-wheelers out and had so much fun!! We played all day long. Keiths dad and Keiths brother, Robert, and Roberts family came with us. Every one had a great time. We bought the 4-wheelers the first of this week and we have all been itching to get out.

Sariah is the funniest kid. I think she lives on another planet. While I was taking her out on a ride, she said "Mom, we should really get one of these". I told her we were riding ours, the one we bought. I told her we could keep it. She said "oh, Im so glad to hear that."

Corrine is a pro at this. She was a little scared at first, but she got that Schramm blood going and "got the need for speed." The only mis-hap we had was when she went over a bump a little too fast and fell off the back of the little 4-wheeler. She jumped up and caught the 4-wheeler as it was driving away from her. She did great!!!
