8 is great and so is Kate!

Did you see what I did with the title there?! Thanks. Kate is finally 8!! She has been so excited for this birthday and for her baptism! She wanted a red velvet batman cake. Well, that is rather specific! I did not want to bake, we do not need a lot of cake around the house, and I'm becoming rather lazy. So.... here is the birthday cake straight from the store. Add a few batman figurines and I was almost a hit. Kate prefers Corrine, but we must all make sacrifices having a missionary out.
Kate was so excited about her remote control car! Its a "real" one that "big" kids have.
She really wanted us to go shopping together for her baptism scriptures. The excitement was at a new high level! Check out the gold scripture case!  Wow.
The kids gave her "baby yoda". It's safe to say this is the highlight of the gift giving day.
Kate requested that she and Keith go to the shooting range. You have to be 8 to shoot on the range.
Another awesome perk to being 8.... no more booster seat!!  Happiness all around. No more car seats for this family!
Kate was especially excited to get baptized. Corrine took her for pictures a few weeks ago. Here are some of our favorites.
Here are some pictures of the actual day!

Because of Covid, we couldn't have very many people gather. We did a small group at the church and then a small group at our house for breakfast afterward.
We are grateful for those that came and all of those that watched online. It was really nice that Corrine in CA could watch! What a blessing!
Kate, we love you! We are so happy you chose to get baptized!
