I decided to do something a little different for our Christmas letter this year. You can look back on the blog if you want more detailed information. For now, I decided to list just a few highlights from our year and the things we have been up to. It has been quite a year.....
January We went to court to find out if we could proceed with adoption. After prayers and fasting, we witnessed a miracle. Birth mothers heart was softened and she relinquished her rights. We were able to start the 90 day waiting period before we could adopt.
February Corrine got an expander in her mouth. It looked scary and was a lot of fun. Other than that, we had normal "busy" life.
March Keith and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. We also put our house in Clinton up for sale.
April In a 4 day period of time Camille got a kidney stone, we went to court and finalized the adoption, Camille had surgery, and we went to the temple to have Hayden sealed to us. Corrine also got braces. Obviously the highlight of the year was being able to adopt Hayden and have him sealed to us. It was such a great experience to have all of our kids in the temple with us that day. We are so grateful to have Hayden and we are grateful for Heavenly Fathers guidance in our lives.
May Jakob turned 12, started Young Mens and got the Priesthood. We also moved out of our house in Clinton on the 28th. It was very sad to leave all of our friends in Clinton.
June We lived with Keiths parents for the month of June. The girls had their big ballet performance on the 25th of June and we moved into our new home on the 25th and 26th of June. Our new home is in Bluffdale and we feel very blessed to be here. The ward is so nice!
July Keiths sister and her family from Michigan stayed with us for a few days. We went camping and tried to dig out of moving boxes. Jakob went on his first scout camp and had a blast. Keith got called to be a ward missionary and Camille got called to be the Bears leader in the Cub Scouts.
August The kids started school... (still homeschool) Jakob is in 7th grade, Corrine is in 4th grade, and Sariah is in 1st grade. Hayden does a little "school" which mostly consists of distracting the other kids. Camille got her dream calling of helping with the preparedness committee.
September The kids had their first belt testing for Tae Kwon Do. They all love it! We also spent most of the summer building a chicken coop. The chickens officially moved in.
October Things kind of slowed down.. a little. We got a new nephew.
November Camille got released from Cub Scouts and her dream calling of working with the preparedness committee. Camille was called to be the first councilor in the Relief Society Presidency. She is very excited for this calling. She is excited to work with a presidency again and to really get to know the sisters of the new ward.
December We take this time to reflect on all of our many blessings. We have seen our Heavenly Fathers hand in our family so many times this year. We have had some big changes this year and all of them were guided by a loving Heavenly Father. We are grateful to be closer to family. We miss our friends in Clinton and we are grateful for the love and friendship we feel for them. We are grateful we are all healthy and happy. We are mostly grateful that we all got the experience of going to the temple this year.
We love you all and hope that you can feel of our Heavenly Fathers love in your life.

It was a great year, but you really should try to accomplish something next year! In reality you make me tired just reading about everything you do. You are such good examples for us.

This is such a good idea! I should think about doing this instead of printing all those cards..... which I still haven't done yet either..... oh well. Maybe you will get a card from me next July! It may say 2010 on it, but just think of it as REALLY early for 2011!
I love your blog! I will miss you guys, what made you decide to make the move? Hayden is really cute and a great edition to your family. What a miracle for you! I still love that you home school, sometimes I still homeschool a class or two. I actually pulled two of my kids out of the "regular school system" this year and put them into a charter school. We'll see how that goes. You have a great family going and have done a great job... family is still one of the most important things we do. Kent and I our still seeing the blessings of family.
