Tae Kwon Do Baby

The three older kids had belt testing for Tae Kwon Do yesterday. We were all very nervous! Corrine tested to get her purple belt. Jakob and Sariah tested to get their yellow belts. We were really worried about Sariah but she managed to pass!! We are so proud of all three of them. They LOVE Tae Kwon Do. Thank you so much Master Kim for teaching them! Here are some pictures from testing.

This first one is of Jakob and Sariah testing as white belts.





This one is of Corrine testing as a yellow belt.




This is Corrine doing her one step sparring. This is a boy in her class. We wanted her to learn Tae Kwon Do so that that boys would be afraid of her. Sadly, he doesn't look very scared. He just doesn't know her very well.



After testing the kids get to break a board. This is Sariah breaking her board.



This Jakob and Corrine breaking their boards. Corrine had to use her foot. Corrine and Sariahs boards were about a 1/3 of an inch thick. Jakobs board was 3/4 of an inch thick and he went right through it!



This is their testing group. They get a trophy if they have earned all of their stripes. To earn stripes they have to have good behavior at home, school, and Tae Kwon Do. They also have to do 4 book reports per month, know their technique, and Master Kim has to think they are ready for testing. The girls got theirs but Jakob missed the book report stripe. He will get it next time!



This is the kids after with their cousin that also tested for a purple belt. They all did great!!
