Happy Birthday Jakob

Happy Birthday Jakob!!! Jakob is 11 today. Holy cow. Where did the time go? We are so grateful for Jakob. He was born at 3:36am and was only 2 lbs and 9 oz. Right from the get go he was a little fighter. His name means "gift from God" and he really has been a gift to us.

Saturday we were going to have his birthday party outside, and have a BBQ and play games outside with his friends. But, mother nature messed us up good. A friend of mine pointed out that Mother Earth might be getting back at me for my little Earth Hour stunt. Maybe....so anyway, we had to have the party inside so I had to scramble for some indoor games. The kids did great and we still had hamburgers, hot dogs and banana splits. Can't go wrong with bananas and Carmel.



Today, Monday is his actual birthday. He slept in till 8:30am (lazy bones) practicing to be a teen-ager. Then, he lounged around and watched some Mythbusters. This afternoon we went to get his birthday pictures and pictures of the kids together for my mothers day present. This evening we had a little family party for him. He had a large chocolate cake (his favorite) and presents (even more his favorite). We got him a frame back pack and a little tent for scouts. He is now in 11 year old scouts and is starting to work toward his Eagle. Hopefully he will get some good use out of that backpack and tent.



We love you Jakob and we are so blessed to have you in our family. You are a great big brother and a great helper. You do well in school, in church, in scouts, and in our family. We love you!
