Keith and I are required to have a certain number of hours of training each year to keep our foster license current. So, we were at a class for half the day the Saturday before Easter. Its nice to go to these classes and talk to other foster parents and most of the time we leave feeling grateful our story isn't as exciting as theirs. As far as foster goes, we still have the same little guy we got in January. We are falling in love with him and we pray that he can stay with us. Well, OK, we pray that what is supposed to happen will happen.. but we really hope that he can stay with us. He fits so well in our family and he seems to love the kids as much as they love him.
SUMMER VACATION!!! YEAH!!! We do a home school/public school. We do school over the Internet (along with lots of book work) and the school district monitors our progress. The kids are required to get 80% of the curriculum finished (which is the same for public school kids) and have testing at the end of the school year. Jakob and Corrine did their testing last week and Jakob completed 85% of his work and Corrine completed 90% of her work. So, we have officially started summer vacation. I still require the kids to do 1 math page and read for 30 minutes each day, but the pressure is off for a couple of months.
Anyway, I think that catches you up on what we have done. Mostly cram like crazy to finish school and then all of the time requirements with foster care. We do classes, visitations, and doctor appointments. Its a busy life, but we are happy and everyone seems to be doing well.
